Ever get a file with an unknown extension? It’s about as useful as a locked filing cabinet if you don’t know what application will open it.
Fortunately, there’s a locksmith in town. Send your browser to WHATIS. This will take you to a database that lists almost all the file extensions known to mankind and their corresponding applications. Now if we could only find a web site to tell us where our missing files have gone!
